Welcome to Veterans Services, where student veterans and veteran dependents can get information about federal education benefits. We work closely with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or Veterans Administration (VA) to administer education benefits covered under Title 10 and Title 38, U.S. Code.
If this is your first-time using VA Federal Education Benefits, applying for them on the Veterans Affairs website at is the first step.
A tool on the page will help you select the appropriate form. Veterans Affairs sends the Certificate of Eligibility in about 30 days that determines what benefit you qualify to use while matriculating through college.

The Dependents鈥 Educational Assistance Program provides educational and training opportunities to eligible dependents of veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to service-related conditions, or who died while on active duty or because of a service-related condition. The program offers up to 45 months of education benefits. These benefits may be used for degree and certificate programs, apprenticeships, and on-the-job training. Spouses may take a correspondence course. |

Chapter 1606 | The Selected Reserve program is available to students if they are a member of the Selected Reserve. The Selected Reserve includes the Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Coast Guard Reserve, Army National Guard and Air National Guard. This benefit may be used for degree and certificate programs, flight training, apprenticeship/on-the-job training, and correspondence courses. |

If you make any schedule changes by increasing or decreasing hours, you should notify your School Certifying Official immediately.
Should your address change during the academic year, update your address in Banner Web and notify the VA by calling 1-888-442-4551 (1-888-GI-BILL1). This ensures that you receive your benefits check and other VA correspondence at the correct address.
PENDING PAYMENT COMPLIANCE
In accordance with Title 38 US Code 3679 subsection (e), this institution adopts the following additional provisions for any students using benefits under Ch. 31-VR&E and Ch. 33- Post 9/11:
While payment is pending from the VA, the institution will not:
鈥 Prevent the student from course registration
鈥 Assess a late penalty fee to the student
鈥 Require the student to secure alternative or additional funding
鈥 Deny access to any resources (access to classes, libraries or other institutional facilities available to other students who have satisfied their tuition and fee bills to the institution

ISAKSON & ROE SECTION 1018 PROVISION
Schools must provide a covered individual (a student using benefits under chapter 30, 31, 32, 33, or 35 of title 38, U.S.C., or chapter 1606 of title 10, U.S.C.) with a personalized shopping sheet that contains:
鈥 Estimated total cost of courses that includes tuition, fees, books, supplies, and any other additional costs.
The personalized shopping sheet is provided to each student in the 麻花视频 MyPortal database, which requires a student login.

All students receiving veteran education benefits are encouraged to complete a FAFSA to ensure the cost of attendance can be met in addition to using veteran funding.

SATISFACTORY PROGRESS/PROBATION
A student receiving VA benefits must understand his college鈥檚 policy regarding satisfactory progress and academic probation (found in the college catalog). A VA student placed on probation has a maximum of two consecutive semesters to return to good standing. Failure to return to good standing within two semesters will make the student ineligible for VA educational benefits.
The student may regain his eligibility for VA benefits for future terms under one of two conditions: (I.) a return to good standing in the college, or (2.) a request for resumption of VA educational benefits is submitted to the VA claiming mitigating circumstances and the VA reinstates benefits based on evidence supporting the student鈥檚 claim.

You must apply for VA education benefits on the VA website then Education and Training. Once you apply, you will receive a Certificate of Eligibility which includes the benefit you are currently eligible to use.
To initiate benefits at 麻花视频, you will need to complete the VA Enrollment Certification Request. You will upload the necessary documents as requested. Once you submit the form it will be sent to the School Certifying Official to complete.
You cannot use multiple benefits at the same time. You would need to determine which benefit is best for you at that time.
Yes. You will need to complete the VA Enrollment Certification Request each term you plan to use your benefits. Your benefits are not automatically processed by the School Certifying Official.
It is highly encouraged for students submit the VA Enrollment Certification Request after you have registered for the upcoming term. This will ensure processing is done in a timely manner. Posted deadlines are as follows: Fall Term 鈥 July 1st, Spring Term 鈥 November 1st, Summer Term -April 1st
Once you submit your certification request, you will receive an email notification of submission to the School Certifying Official. Once the School Certifying Official has processed your certification to the VA, you will receive another email notification from 鈥淓nrollment Manager鈥. At that time, the VA will process your certification.
It can take approximately 30 days after the VA has processed your certification to receive your first payment.

Yes. Your payment will be based on your enrollment status (full-time, part-time etc.) and modality (face to face or online). The School Certifying Official will report any changes to the VA which could impact your payment.
After the VA Education Certification request is received, the VA certifying official must follow a dual certification process. You will receive 2 certification confirmation emails (at different times):
1 with $0.00 certified to initiate MHA & Book stipend and
1 after add/drop deadline with actual tuition and fees reported
If you have submitted the certification request and all required documents have been received for Ch. 33 or 31, your classes will not be dropped for non-payment. However, you must ensure your entire balance is paid by the payment deadline. Under Ch. 33, the VA only covers tuition and mandatory fees (fees charged to all students). If the payment from the VA does not cover your balance, you can be dropped.

Any students using Ch. 31 benefits can not use the Financial Aid book voucher. Your books are fully covered under Ch. 31. Your counselor must send your authorization directly to the bookstore for processing.

Yes. You can use your benefits at another school as a transient student. You will have to request a Parent Institution Letter from your home school. You will also need to provide the name and email address of the School Certifying Official or department email that handles VA benefits.
