Direct programs are facilitated through one of our 5 external providers:
Our partners provide experiences for all majors, including intensive language, service, and internship opportunities. Certain programs may hold classes at a provider’s center, or you may have the option to enroll directly in a university abroad. Placement is generally guaranteed if eligibility requirements are met.
Length
These programs can be a few weeks to a semester long.
Eligibility
Full-time, traditional student with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Classified as a sophomore or junior at 黨Ƶ during time abroad. In good standing with 黨Ƶ (academically, financially, health records, and conduct).
Cost
The Office of International Education provides a list of 黨Ƶ-approved programs. These semester programs are priced under $20,000 to match 黨Ƶ’s cost of attendance. Institutional scholarships may not be used for direct programs, however, externally funded scholarships may be utilized. Check out our “” page to explore how to fund your trip. Individual partner program providers also offer scholarships to make studying abroad more affordable!
Exchange
Overview
An exchange program provides 黨Ƶ students to study abroad for a semester while an international student studies on the 黨Ƶ campus. You will pay your normal 黨Ƶ tuition, room, and board to receive the same accommodation at the institution abroad. This program is conducted through and spaces in these programs are limited.
Length
Exchange programs are a semester long. Currently, these programs are available for spring semester only.
Eligibility
Full-time, traditional student with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Classified as a sophomore or junior at 黨Ƶ during time abroad. In good standing with 黨Ƶ (academically, financially, health records, and conduct). Students who demonstrate significant financial need and those who receive institutional scholarships will be prioritized for the ISEP Exchange Program.
Cost
Both institutional and externally funded scholarships may be used to fund an exchange program. also offers its own scholarships to reduce costs.
Faculty-Led
Overview
Want to travel with faculty and your fellow 黨Ƶ brothers? This is your chance! Faculty-led programs are short-term and occur during summer, winter break, J-Mester, and spring break. This is a great option for students traveling internationally for the first time. Some faculty-led programs offer academic credit or are part of a course.
Length
Faculty-led programs range between 1-4 weeks.
Eligibility
Full-time, traditional student of any classification. Graduating seniors are eligible for summer programs if travel dates do not coincide with commencement dates. GPA requirements vary depending on the individual program.
Cost
Costs vary depending on the specific study abroad program. However, the Office of International Education aims to keep expenses under $3,500. Exact cost breakdowns of each trip can be found on the study abroad .
Fully funded trips cover essential travel costs, including flight, accommodations, ground transportation, and entry fees to required sites. Partially funded trips provide reduced costs but still require the traveler to fund some of the program costs. Unfunded programs require the student to fully fund their study abroad experience. Students who participate in unfunded study abroad programs are eligible to use the , which provides up to $2,400 for students demonstrating financial need.
